Adam Clayton Powell III is Director of Washington DC Programs for the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Center for Communication Leadership and Policy. He also serves as Project Director for the USC Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity initiative, which draws on USC’s schools of (in alphabetical order) business, communications, engineering, law, medicine and public policy. Powell is also President of the Public Diplomacy Council of the United States and a University Fellow at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, presenting monthly forums, many televised nationally, on the intersection of diplomacy, culture and technology.
The Highway Africa Conference is a project of Rhodes University (Grahamstown, South Africa). The 22-year old event is supported by a variety of partners including Government, corporate South Africa and development agencies. The key focus is the impact of digital technologies (internet and mobile) on journalism and the media and, by extension, society.
